Larger Than Life
The world of photography has opened my eyes to the unlimited possibilities of documenting the world around me. I enjoy creating images that call attention to objects that most people overlook in their daily lives. By learning to identify interesting photographic subjects which we would not normally be unaware of, I have been introduced to a new world of texture and color. This process has inspired me to continually look for the small worlds, commonly overlooked as we go about our daily routines.
Using macro photography and studio lighting techniques enables me to explore the details of the insect realm. Each piece of artwork was created by using a technique called “focus stacking” to combine 40 to 100 individual images into one final finished piece of art which was then printed to a grander scale, larger than life.
